Ambassadors in Sport – Bringing Hope Through Football
Job Title: Hope FC Football Outreach Assistant, London
Approx. Salary: £17,500 - £20,000
For over fifteen years Ambassadors in Sport has been at the forefront in developing practical models which seek to bring about social transformation through football. We work with young offenders, disadvantaged young people and excluded pupils, to give them a chance in life and an opportunity to re-join society. We require a Hope FC outreach assistant to help us continue to develop our work in this important area.
Our ideal candidate will have an active Christian faith in line with the Christian values of Ambassadors in Sport and have the ability to use their love of football to come alongside, train and encourage young people in areas of self-esteem, self-worth and other important life skills.
1/ MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
· To assist in the running of Hope FC football outreach programmes run by Ambassadors in Sport [London]
· To assist the Hope FC Outreach Co-ordinator to develop outreach programmes including programmes with disadvantaged groups, football clubs, afterschool clubs and mentoring programmes.
· To deliver football coaching and life skills teaching sessions at mentoring programmes and community football groups.
· To manage Ambassadors in Sport volunteers and interns involved with the above projects.
· To be actively involved in fundraising activies for the work of Ambassadors in Sport.
2/ POSITION IN ORGANISATION:
· Report to the Hope FC Football Outreach Co-ordinator.
· Oversee Ambassadors in Sport interns and volunteers involved in your specific project.
3/ SCOPE OF THE JOB:
· Represent Ambassadors in Sport at appropriate local events.
· Assist in developing the work of Ambassadors in Sport in London.
· Deliver quality football coaching and mentoring to participants in the programmes you oversee and other programmes as directed by the Hope FC Football Outreach Co-ordinator.
· Teach training programmes / seminars where appropriate in the locality.
· Participation in other appropriate Ambassadors in Sport work outside of your programmes as required.
· Formulate a support team that will assist you personally/professionally during the term of your employment.
· Cover any other reasonable duties within Ambassadors in Sport [UK].
4/ DIMENSIONS AND LIMITS OF AUTHORITY:
· Is a front line member of Ambassadors in Sport, London.
· Is required to travel and often work outside office hours.
5/ QUALIFICATIONS:
· FA Level 2 coaching qualification - desirable.
· Relevant qualification in youth work – desirable.
· Relevant qualification in sports management – desirable.
6/ EXPERIENCE:
· Good communication skills
· Good organisation skills
· Ability to work alone and under pressure
· Desire to see young people achieve their potential
